Puppy Love 2 The Space Ning
On impulse I stopped by the Animal Shelter, armed with treats for the canine and human beings, having read it was puppy adoption weekend. 34 puppies were adopted Saturday I was told and more today, hooray! I am so grateful for our shelter, the nice clean, safe, light and bright space, that offers a cubicle for each pup with bed, blanket, toys and treats and several outings a day from so many volunteers. I am especially grateful for having gotten my Isabella-girl from this shelter, and I could not have gotten a sweeter companion! I want to encourage everyone to go out and visit with these, our canine buddies in transition.

They love to get the extra attention, and we do not have to feel like we are the only ones that can adopt them and offer them the love and care they deserve. Instead we can trust that in time they all just about find a good new home and meanwhile they get the best of care. Go on out there and say hello, and bring a bag of treats or more, or some old blankets, or toys or simply your time and affection! Blaze is a sweet 10 months old Labrador/Retriever/Pit Bull is sweet and friendly and going for her treats. No info was available on this one as it was in process of being adopted.

I found her in a shelter in LA. She was in a kennel with 8 other dogs and could not compete for food. She wasn't the prettiest in the bunch and was a little older, bow-legged, well, bad knees and an old lady bump on her head. Teeth are good though.
Hmmmm sounds a little like her foster mom. It took her several days to warm up to me but now goes nuts when I come home. Knows that shoes mean a walk.
Chases the cats away from her bones but otherwise is fine with them. Will bite bare toes if she doesn't know the toes. My vet came by in flip flops and she tried to bite him on the big toe. Will warm up to everyone including kids.
Tried to chase my 100 lb dog who laughed at her. Travels well. Has flown 8 times in the last several months. Schweser level 2. Tries to bite my husband if he gets out of bed and tries to get back in (thinking she's protecting me I guess).
In fairness that has stopped. She isn't always housebroken if you are not diligent.

The third dog is Betty, my foster, who just doesn't want to live with anyone else:( We just aren't finding the perfect placement for her and so she is back with me. Puppy Palooza was a great event and an amazing example of team work. The staff and volunteers did an amazing job! If anyone knows a patient person who wants a bed warmer and a toe biter (just gentle nips) please send he or she to me.
