Open Programs Monitor 2
How do you open the file in monitor 2? Is monitor 2 your primary monitor? What is the specific program to open the file? The default monitor setup is Mirror mode. So it would be great to have a list with programs/apps and you can set the monitor. Want to earn a free DisplayFusion. Word will always open on monitor.
Create a shortcut, then place that shortcut on the secondary monitor desktop, then launch using that shortcut. Or, to test this out, just drag an existing shortcut from the primary desktop onto the second monitor before launching. A more interesting question is how to do the above, and still have the app launch on the primary monitor.
A less interesting question is, why anyone would want to launch from the second monitor, but still run on the primary monitor. And the answer is, so that if a user launched from the second monitor(why doesn't apply)the app would still behave identically to if launched from the primary monitor.

Open the application. Re-size the window so that it is not maximized or minimized. Move the window to the monitor you want it to open on by default. Close the application.
Do not re-size prior to closing. Open the application. It should open on the monitor you just moved it to and closed it on. Maximize the window. The application will now open on this monitor by default. If you want to change it to another monitor, just follow steps 1-6 again.
As I mentioned earlier, check out 'Actual Multiple Monitors'. Its free and does a LOT. For example, you can specify that pop-up dialog always open on the monitor hosting the mouse. This one is a huge scroll-saver for me.

I hate working on the right-most monitor only to have to travel all the way to the far left to click 'ok' on some system window that wants permission to continue copying a folder, then travel all the way back to the far side.
