Install Windows 1 01 Dosbox Commands
You switch disk and before running the command in Windows press. Installed Windows 1.00, 1.01. On DOSBox 0.74. When prompted for an install path. Install Windows 1 01 Dosbox Dos. Box Beginners. This tutorial assumes you have a little understanding of the basic DOS commands and the use of a command line.

I've done this with every version up to 3.1 - tried it with 3.11 and it ran but no icons appeared. But for all versions 1 and 2 it works a treat.

This is a necessary step (due to DOSBox handling of mounted drives) for the installer to recognize that the directory was created. You must select graphics option 5 (EGA) if you want color. BE sure to set your DOS version to 3.3 (ver set 3 30 - note the space between 3 and 30!) or you'll receive memory errors when attempting to run any program within Windows 1.x.
