It crashes right after I open the application I see no black screen or any other sort of error, just a crash. It is like i never opened the application. Even with the antivirus and the firewall disabled or unistalled from the computer, it does not work.
Can somebody help me out with my problem? Do you know if they are compatibility issues between win 8.1 and dota 2? 'Hello, I tried to play Dota 2 after upgrading to Win 8.1. The menus were strangely muted, and after starting up a game the graphics were unplayably blurry.
The problem is apparently Win 8.1 activates nVidia stereoscopic 3D by default. You need to turn it off. Here's how: 1.) Right click the Geforce Experience icon in the bot right corner - Open nVidia Control Panel 2.) Click 'Set Up Stereoscopic 3D' 3.) Untick the 'Enable Stereoscopic 3D' box Your games should look normal again.' -SlySquash Posting from other part of forum. However for me I fixed it by just reinstalling the Nvidia drivers. Thank you this helped me fix my problem! I had joked when first opening the game that it looked like it was in 3D. It's not about 'wanting' Windows 8, as a gamer with IT knowledge you know what improvements it brings to the table behind that terrible touch interface, yes of course the UI is atrocious beyond believe but the UI is not all that important if you want to get the best out of your hardware/ software on Windows based systems in relation to performance/ latency relevant tasks/ usage. On Windows 8 you can do 4 simple things to improve your experience after which you are ready to leave Windows 7 behind: 1. Install classic shell and the start button and UI experience you know mostly is back in place 2. Disable dynamic ticks - through an elevated cmd prompt: bcdedit /set disabledynamictick yes 3. Give changing the system timer a try if you should still experience lag/ latency/ performance issues - through an elevated cmd prompt: bcdedit /set useplatformclock true - also check if you have HPET enabled in your BIOS 4.
