777 Worldliner Extended Publisher: VMAX Review Author: Gene Davis Suggested Price: $84.95 X-Plane 10 has some serious potential and given that it runs using 64 bit technology definitely makes it one best flight simulators out on the market when compared alongside other products of its genre simply because of that. X-Plane has had its share of nay-sayers but it also has a pretty decent sized fan base as well. So, it is only a matter of time that we would want to see a product that would be worthy of the X-Plane 10 engine and take the X-Plane 10 simulation to whole new level! There are tons of aircraft add-ons available for X-Plane 10 and whether it is freeware and or payware the list is extensive and it is pretty much a buyer's market.

However, the market has been pretty limited to high end simulations that are true to their real world counterparts especially when you consider commercial airliners. Sure, there are some good products and the 747 that comes with X-Plane 10 is comparable when alongside other default aircraft of its type for other simulations it is still weak in systems and functionality. Ultimately, I wanted to try something on the level of the PMDG 747 and or the 737, but those are for FSX and not X-Plane so after a quick search I found myself looking over the VMAX 777 Extended package and was quick to pounce on it after I saw its list of features and advanced systems. Which Package Do I Choose? The VMAX 777 comes two different ways, the first being a that retails at $59.99 and then an that retails for $84.95 The Professional package comes with a fully functional 777, a complete avionics suite but only includes one passenger model of the 777-ER, whereas if you purchase the Extended package you will have access to not only the fully functional 777 and it avionics suite but you will also get the 777-ER, 777-200 (Cargo) and the 777-300 ER along with a full list of liveries for each model.

If you don't mind spending the extra money I would recommend the Extended package because you really do get more bang for your buck and you have accessibility to all three models when flying the 777 in the future. Purchasing, Downloading And Activating I received my 777 package from FS Pilot Shop, so all you will need to do there is simply log in to your account and purchase whatever edition of the 777 you want.

Once finished, you will be given a download link and an activation code that will need to be entered once the 777 has been properly installed into X-Plane 10. As with most add-ons for X-Plane 10 there is no installer that is included with the zip file. So, you simply get a file called VMX-115.zip and it is your job to extract and place the files where they need to go into X-Plane.

X Plane 10 777 Professional

If you are familiar with X-Plane this shouldn't be much of a problem, but if you are not just follow the directions that are included with the file set. I typically just place my payware models into a subfolder of the X-Plane 10 under the aircraft folder called payware aircraft, or you can opt to just dump the 777 into the aircraft root folder as well for easier access. After placing the aircraft into X-Plane the next thing you will need to do is activate the aircraft and this is done the very first time that you launch X-Plane 10 with the 777. You will have the option to either do it automatically or manually depending on your internet connection and I think for most of us this will be done through the automatic setting; once completed and it says that you have successfully activated the product you will need to exit X-Plane and restart. Though it is not required I recommend a full on system restart because you just never know what might still be running in the system background.
